This is the recommended program for most U5 players. The Developmental program is run “academy style” with no teams. This is group training and New Ball games during sessions with similar skill level children. The program is comprised of eight, one hour sessions on Saturday afternoons after 4 PM. Program activities include dribbling, kicking, follow the leader, and many of other ways to get lots of touches on the ball. These are FUN and age appropriate activities kids enjoy without knowing they are working on soccer fundamentals.

Players are divided up for the last 30 minutes of sessions #2 to #8 to play a small sided game called New Ball. The parents help conduct New Ball games as well as knocking the ball around with your child during sessions. The emphasis is on Fun to build a love of the game.  Sessions are held at the U6 fields (fields 16-20) at Indian Springs Sports Complex. See the U5 Spring Session Information page for session times.  Click Here for the U5 Guildelines!

Participants will need to have shin guards (covered by socks) and a size 3 ball. Each child will receive a BASC club T-Shirt. Parents will need to dress appropriately for moving around and participating. Bring plenty of water for yourself and your child. You will be contacted about the time of your session prior to the season beginning.

If there are any questions about the U5 Developmental program contact U5 Director, Geron McGinnis via email:ballisticcoach@hotmail.com. Parents who would like to assist Coach McGinnis during the sessions are also encouraged to email.

Geron McGinnis is a Member Emeritus of the Broken Arrow Soccer Club. He has been recognized by the BASC, Oklahoma Soccer Association and US Youth Soccer for excellence in coaching and coach mentoring. He also coaches three recreational teams for BASC this spring.
